The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is the largest country in the Middle East with the largest continuous sand desert in the world. Saudi Arabia is famous for the holy city of Mecca, a pilgrimage site for the world’s Muslim community. The country also has ultra-modern cities with world class architecture. The banner shows the Saudi traditional sport of falconry in the foreground. Camels are able to survive in the deserts of Saudi and are commonly referred to as “ships of the desert”. The sky has the textile pattern seen on Saudi traditional head cloths. The crescent moon and star symbolize the country’s Islamic religion.
